To Sleep or to Reap?
Written by Aaron Kahle

You know, every week I sit down and eye my fantasy baseball team, I have two thoughts in my mind: who goes to the Sleeper Room and who gets sent to the Reaper’s Doom? Sleepers are still fantasy free agents and the others are already on most teams but need an appointment with Death (fantasy Death, that is)

The Sleeper Room

Akinori Iwamura 2B (TB) - .302, 5 SB, 8 R, batting leadoff for the Rays? Only 25% owned blows my mind. Get him while you can.

Glen Perkins P (Minn) - Every year it’s the same thing with The Perk (my nickname). Good numbers, no love: 24 IP, 2.48 ERA, 1.00 WHIP. I just don’t get it.

Kurt Suzuki C (Oak) - I wonder what people are thinking sometimes when solid catchers are hard to come by in fantasy baseball: .328 BA shouldn’t be passed up.

The Reaper's Doom

J.J. Hardy SS (Mil) - J. J. is Nay-Nay and I have to say-say that I don’t think there will a day-day when J.J. is a good play-play again. Send him to the Reaper!

Jhonny Peralta SS (Cle) - 92% owned!!! Are we all smoking crack? Better yet, does anything from the last five seasons justify this. Check the stats. At .234 BA this year, I’ve given up. Send him to the Reaper!

Justin Verlander P (Det) - Sheesh. Remember a few years back and the Tigers were in the Series and this guy was all the hype? Nowadays? 0-2, 9.00 ERA, 2.78 WHIP. Say it with me, folks: send him to the Reaper!
